The problem with live music photography - the official kind I mean - is that it doesn't really look like that. In person. You're never that close to the band, you certainly don't see it that clearly, and your memories are never that sharp.
So you take your phone out and snap a pic. And it's this library that eventually holds a truer experience; that which more often become your memories over time. Where you've been, where you stood. Who's head you were looking at the back of.
We're lucky here at TheVine. We find ourselves at music events so frequently that it would decimate the bank balance as a credit card-carrying punter. We also find ourselves in all sorts of unusual situations; side of stage, at events all over Australia, in famous bands rehearsal rooms and...trying to think of a question when all of a sudden Slash is walking towards you. All sorts.
So here we look back at an entire year of music events across 2010, each photo a snapshot taken with the trusty mobile phone. From the crisp and beautiful to the blurry and distant. Or personal. Or just absurd. Each one at least, a brief moment of being moved enough to document the thing.
