The third annual Golden Plains festival delivered in spades on the weekend. After a slight drizzle early Saturday morning, the weather cleared to near perfect (if a little cool) conditions.

Fun facts:

1. Getting to Meredith early to set up in a prime location and have a nap before the fun starts is invaluable.

2. Asahi and Cascade Pale comes in cans. Delicious. Mental note.

3. It is entirely possible to appear in the middle of the crowd encased inside a giant bubble, roll around drinking a beer for a few minutes on top of people and then disappear back into the crowd from whence one came.

4. The "Shoe of Approval" tradition is now firmly ensconced. This years winner: Old Crow Medicine Show.

5. The Pink Flamingo bar should never, ever, ever, ever run out of their namesake drink. For shame.

6. Someone explaining where they're camped adds no likelihood to being able to find them. Ever. Similarly, the quirk of probability states that you will never ever see half of the friends you know are there, yet will continuously bump into the other half of your friends amongst 6000 people on a dancefloor.

7. ----- sounded great/horrible/I was asleep. ------ was shit/amazing/I was asleep.

8. After a decade of festival going you will not wake up with a spider in your tent. This is the payoff.

9. Sitting on a cliff top as the sun goes down over a valley just metres away from the stage is an OK thing to do.

10. Friendy!
