The fourth Australian Music Prize Awards were held last Friday. Here's a look at the winners, grinners and novelty cheques.

The day's action began with Sydney folk-cum-soul-blues artist Jack Ladder taking out the $15,000 Red Bull Award In Recognition Of Outstanding Potential. He then played a victory lap in the form of a short set, much to the chagrin of the losers.

Then the main event saw Frankston kids Eddy Current Suppression Ring turn their slip of plastic in Primary Colours (self-recorded for a paltry $1500) into a novelty cheque to the tune of $30,000. Cue beers, grins and chats with Jane Gazzo.

Congratulations Eddy Current!
