Spread across six rooms on Oxford Street in Sydney, the 2009 Essential Festival offers a quiver of bands for your perusal.
Happening on the 25th April, this Sydney only festival takes over a bunch of venues in what is slowly becoming somewhat of an epicentre of live music in Sydney; Oxford Street. But then let's face it, two bars near next door to each other with a band on is about as hotbed as it gets in one spot.
Essential 2009 will be held for the first time on Oxford Street, spread across six rooms: Oxford Art Factory, Oxford Art Factory gallery room, Spectrum, 34B, Vegas Bar and QBar, which means different environments and more musical styles can be presented than at previous Essential’s.
It sure does mean a whole lot of environments. A whole lot of environments that look like dark bars. Nonetheless it's a change of tack for the nearly four year old festival; over the last three years the event has happened in Surry Hills. From the bedroom to the playground then.
It's a diverse lineup with over thirty bands playing. Feast:
