After a months of speculation and various artists (Lady Sovereign, MSTRKRFT) dropping hints that they were on their way to the fabled Spring festival, Parklife organisers have officially announced this years lineup. And it may as well say Empire of the Sun and a bunch of other bands.
The fabled (and unlikely) duo of Nick Littlemore and Luke Steele will be making their live festival debut at the event. Perhaps this is what Littlemore was talking about when he was
waxing on to Clash Music about their stage show plans:
"It’s going to be more like a play than a rock show, as we want to distance ourselves from that sort of guitar-and-drums set up. Music, as Luke said, is clear, it’s invisible; we really want to create something that’s visible, and that takes you somewhere further than just sonics could"
UPDATE: Nick Littlemore will not be appearing in the band's live show according to a press release. Not really Empire of the Sun then is it?
(Speaking of Empire of the Sun, here's their brand new clip for 'Standing on the Shore'. So new it's still lo-res but we'll fix that asap).
