Organisers of the 19th annual Meredith Music Festival in country Victoria have announced this years lineup and indeed Animal Collective shall indeed be peeling away your third eye like skin on an old carrot.

So we were right y'all. The psychedelic threesome are coming to the farm, along with similarly psychedelic proponents Akron/Family, the EXCELLENT San Franciscan hip-pop outfit Why?, the debonair Jarvis Cocker, and flamboyant brat Patrick Wolf. On the local front we get the legendary Paul Kelly, along with Melbourne wunderkinds Kid Sam, the gloved powerhouse of Eddy Current Suppression Ring, the epic Middle East from Townsville, banger-friendly Bag Raiders and a reunited (still shaggy? hmmm) grunge-poppers Tumbleweed. Amongst a host of others.

The event takes place at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre from December 11 - 13, 2009. Tickets are available by ballot on the official website right now, with store sales to open Sept 8 and online sales Sept 10. Of particular note is that there will only be Fri/Sat/Sun tickets available this time round, as opposed to the option to buy just Sat/Sun tickets over previous years. Gates will also open half a day earlier on the Friday.
