Perhaps our most anticipated act on this week's Good Vibrations lineup, the excellent UK indie-dance band Friendly Fires, have cancelled their trip to Australia.
UPDATE: And so now have the Killers. For the most part.
Friendly Fires posted a missive on their Facebook page earlier this morning, explaining that due to a "family emergency" the band wouldn't be making the trek. The Good Vibrations festival kicks off this Saturday in Sydney.
The bands message reads:
Hey everyone,
Unfortunately we have had to cancel our trip to Australia because of a family emergency within the band. Heartfelt apologies to anyone who was looking forward to our shows, we hope we’ll have the chance to come and play for you all very soon.

Friendly Fires were last in the country when touring as part of Splendour in the Grass in 2009. We
reviewed their Melbourne sideshow at the time, saying "it's hard to think of how much better they could be". I guess we don't get to find out so soon.
Organisers have not yet responded to the cancellation but we'll update this story when they do.
