Legendary producer, musician and iPhone app creator and Brian Eno is coming to Sydney.

I love the iPhone app Bloom. It's perfect for being entertained without having to give too much back. Much like attending a Coldplay concert.

Though Eno has never been to Australia, some of the fairy dust he sprinkles on fellow artists records have been performed here recently. Ex-Talking Head David Byrne was just in town to play songs of his recent collaboration with Eno, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, while those military-fetishists Coldplay are just winding up a run of dates to promote their newest album Viva La Vida. Which was painstakingly produced by Eno. Then there's the aforementioned iPhone app, which my friend never stops playing me. "I get it *bing* it makes *bing* soothing notes whenever you *bing* touch the *bing* screen *bing* ENOUGH!"

Eno is making his first Australian visit in May to curate the inaugural mid-year music festival Luminous at the Sydney Opera House. Luminous will apparently "feature 30 music acts, performances, light installations and talks across Bennelong Point as part of Vivid Sydney from May 26 to June 14."

And Eno's curatorial approach to the festival? "“They are people who work in the new territories, the places in between, the places out at the edges,” he said. “Some of them take old forms and infuse them with new life, and make them new again, and others have invented forms of art that didn't previously exist.”

Forms of art that didn't previously exist? Holy crap *fans self*. I'm camping out for "talk" tickets, that's for sure. I wonder if this guy will be there? He should.

Eno himself will have an art and sound installation in the exhibit. The Australian premiere of Eno’s 77 Million Paintings will run in The Studio across the entire three week festival and his designs will also be projected on the Opera House sails, as part of Smart Light Sydney.

Also, Battles are playing. I love Battles.
