Wolfmother split up

The rumours are true. Just days after headlining Sunday's Splendour in the Grass festival, Wolfmother have split up.

Bass player and keyboardist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett have announced their resignation from the band, effective immediately. A statement from the group reads: "Following [Splendour] Chris Ross decided to announce that he was leaving the band due to irreconcilable personal and musical differences. Myles Heskett has also decided to leave the band rather than continuing as part of a changed lineup. The pair have been working together on songs for some time and they plan to focus their energies on that new project in the future."

The statement goes on to address fans of the band: "Please understand that in spite of their best efforts over a long period of time, they just could not find a harmonious way to work together and that has lead to the decisions announced today".

Tensions between band members are nothing new for the trio, but new rumours of a break up surfaced on Sunday when the band refused to show up to a Triple J interview due to "internal issues". It's not the end for Wolfmother however, at least in name. Stockdale is simply aiming to find and replace the two original members and record a new album under the Wolfmother name.
