Wolfmother...I mean White Feather want you to knowthat they're playing three shows. Their first since some other dudesleft one other dude alone with his hair.
Despite very surely looking at the
Wolfmother Myspace, where it says "Wolfmother : Phase II Cometh", some band listed as White Feather is in their gig guide. Whatever on earth does this mean?
One theory is that this Sunday marks the first time that Wolfmother will play with their new, as yet officially unannounced lineup. Unofficially, the band's new drummer is Dave Atkins from Brisbane hip-hoppers Resin Dogs, who was allegedly outed as the new skinsman via his drum shop. That Dave is in the bands Top 8 as well as their first "secret" show being in Brisbane suggests the internet is an unassailable font of undeniable truth and fact. It also means that Beck or Mike Watt must be the new bass player. The latter would kind've work actually...hmm.
There's further evidence to the above, including reports that Atkins was recording demos with Stockdale back in April 2008, over at
wolfmother.net.The other theory is that Andrew Stockdale is now an Eastern Bloc basketballer and White Feather refers to his silky jump shot. Unconfirmed.
Here's the dates.
Feb 6 2009 - White Feather @ The Valley Studios Brisbane, QLD
Feb 8 2009 - White Feather @ Oxford Art Factory Sydney, NSW
Mar 22 2009 - Clipsal 500 Adelaide 2009 Adelaide, SA
Word on the street is that the ex-members of Wolfmother Myles Heskett and Chris Ross are working on their own project right now.
