Wolfmother phase II returned to the live scene over the weekend. Atleast in name.

The new band appeared at the The Valley Studios in Brisbane on Saturday and the Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney on Sunday night. Ex-members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett must be chuffed to learn that sole remaining member Andrew Stockdale has recruited three people to recreate the sound of the previous two.

The new members according to reports on Wolfmother.net are Ian Peres (bass), Aiden Nemeth (guitar/keys) and the aforementioned Dave Atkins on drums. The band played seven new songs, one of which, 'Pilgrim', seems to be a new fan favourite, as well as the fake band titled 'White Feather'. Music blog Sex4ears was at the Sydney show and described the latter as "sounding very AC/DC which was prettyepic", but then added "Still not sure if the decision to have another guitarist is agood thing, the thickening of the sound was great periodically, but itjust didn't seem to be that necessary."

There's some slightly shitty video from the Sydney gig online. It's not a great reflection of what went down, but...it sure still sounds like Wolfmother.
