It's been four years since UK's
Radiohead made it to Australian shores and with no down under dates in sight, it seems fans have to be content with watching the band on their computer screens rather than in the flesh.
Last Friday they broadcast their show from Santa Barbara live for the whole world to see - a grand event befitting the enormity of Radiohead. Our own office couldn't resist sneaking a few clandestine views at the stream from radiohead.tv. It was the band's final date of their tour promoting last year's stellar release,
In Rainbows. If you're not envious already of those lucky folks being given a chance to see this amazing band live, cast your eyes upon the setlist of the evening:
1. Reckoner
2. Optimistic
3. There There
4. 15 Step
5. All I Need
6. Nude
7. Talk Show Host
8. Arpeggi
9. The Gloaming
10. Morning Bell
11. The National Anthem
12. Faust Arp
13. No Surprises
14. Jigsaw Falling Into Place
15. The Bends
16. Karma Police
17. Bodysnatchers
Encore 1:
18. Cymbal Rush
19. House of Cards
20. Paranoid Android
21. Go Slowly
22. Everything In Its Right Place
Encore 2:
23. Videotape
24. Lucky
25. Idioteque
Some of the songs have made their way onto
YouTube and yes, the video quality isn't amazing but hey, they were broadcasting their own show online. That's no mean feat. In typical Radiohead form, there's some quirky angles that give you an extreme closeup on Thom Yorke and one that hovers right above Jonny Greenwood. Here's footage from the concert's final number, 'Idioteque'.
