The summer international touring onslaught continues with French band Phoenix announcing their return in 2010. Golden Plains?
Though French band Phoenix have been a going concern for over a decade now, it's only been the release this year of their fourth album
Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix that the group have hit the big time. Meaning: they've cracked it in America. Playing all the US talk shows, gleaning rave reviews from all those blogs that your parents keep talking about and being lathered over the radio via nailing that fine line between dance and pop. You can take pills
and drink at a Phoenix show! What's not to love?
Despite being here in August this year (which we
reviewed and took some pics of), the band have announced a return jaunt to our land in the new year. The band will touch down in March 2010. A glance at the calendar says that the Golden Plains is on the 6th, 7th and 8th of March. PHOENIX HAVE A BREAK IN THEIR SCHEDULE ON THE 7TH AND 8TH!
Extraordinarily conclusive evidence that Phoenix will be playing Golden Plains next year, alongside Pavement and Dirty Projectors. Making GP 2010 the greatest gathering of creative minds this side of Ween.
