Future visitors to our shores, MGMT, may have just stolen the world's collective heart with their electro-indie-psych melange entitled Oracular Spectacular, but the duo are already looking towards their second album.

Speaking to NME, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have unveiled some truly grand plans, which include making their new record a double album and collaborating with none other than dance music legends The Chemical Brothers.

"We'll experiment with them to create a different sound," Ben Goldwasser told the British rag. "They've collaborated with people like Noel Gallagher before and they have this psychedelic side to them, so we'll find common ground."

Expanding on the double album idea further, MGMT explained they'd like to showcase the different sides of their musical tastes on the album, with one disc for their pop songs and the other for their psychedelic forays.

But don't expect it too soon, tempered Goldwasser. ""It's several months off," he said. "There is always the risk that by the time we get there we'll be on to something different."

All of MGMT's Australian dates are sold out.
