Lisa Mitchell has won the 2009, $30,000 Australian Music Prize.

Her album Wonder beat the likes of Kid Sam, Urthboy, Black Cab, Sarah Blasko, Oh Mercy and Bertie Blackman to take home the $30,000 prize. Not too bad when you're just shy of your 20th birthday.

The prestigious award recognises the "outstanding potential" of Australian bands that have produced an original album. Previous years winners have included, The Drones, Augie March, The Mess Hall and Eddy Current Suppression Ring.
