About a month ago Lily Allen said she was going to
quit music. After posting on her blog that she supported the British governments attempts to disconnect illegal downloaders from the internet, Allen copped so much flak that she announced that "The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I'm concerned."
A few days after her post Allen was announced as one of the acts on the 2010 Big Day Out. Strictly speaking, Allen did not say she was quitting music all together. Just the "recording" of it. Which presumably is going to make it hard to tour, seeing as that no-one will know what her future songs will sound like.
For now though, we have
It's Not Me, It's You to promote, and come January that's precisely what she'll be doing as part of the Big Day Out circus. Having toured Australia already back in June, Allen has announced three sideshows, one of which, in Brisbane, will feature our predicted hit of the BDO, Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris. OMG.
Tickets go on sale Monday 9th October.
