Kanye West kicked off his latest tour in Seattle, Washington last night. For months the megalomaniacal star has been banging on about how impressive his Daft Punk-inspired stage show is going to be. From reports it sounds like he partially delivered. RollingStone.com says: "Kanye stood alone on a stage that was made out to look like a spaceship, complete with a giant video backdrop that flashed psychedelic fractal patterns, bursting stars and moonscapes. Ostensibly, Kanye was trapped aboard a rogue ship piloted by a female version, dubbed Jane, of 2001’s HAL 9000."

I can't imagine it ever rising above Daft Punk's live show, which was practically an art installation with a soundtrack. Or Flavour Flav's clock. The way he uses it to promote the idea that he just always knows what 'time' it is, is really remarkable.

There's video and it shows a couple of oddly-titled set-pieces, some smoke and West rising up on stage in a Jesus Christ pose. It all starts about 2:00 in. Be warned: the audio is shocking.
