It's kind of dumb to post commercials, but then let's not pretend that we don't all have an iPod ok? Or pine for each new one. Ok.

It does make make it more interesting when the latest - and now ubiquitous - iPod commercial features a soundtrack by UK "buzz" (blergh) band The Ting Tings. They didn't use the excellent 'That's Not My Name' or even the good 'Great DJ'. Instead they've gone for the 'Take Me Out' mirroring 'Shut Up And Let Me Know'. Maybe that way Apple feel like they're getting two for the price of one?

Says Katie from the band on their MySpace: "Its really funny how we got it...we played south by south west in Austin ,Texas and I fainted onstage. We had another gig an hour later and we almost pulled out of it because I was so ill. We managed to play three songs and by the last one I was shaky again but apple loved it. We so nearly didn't play that gig. So glad we did now ( :"

That last smiley face is back to front. Did she faint upside down? The Ting Tings join the ranks of U2, The Vines, Wolfmother, and the New Buffalo penned '1234' by Feist in appearing in the ad campaign. Watch below:
