Electro-funk outfit Dirty Laundry are gearing up for a far-flung national tour that goes so far as to take in offshore Australian shopping strip...Bali.

The Melbourne band "inspired by the likes of Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Groove Armada and Massive Attack", have found a modicum of success on the back of their self-released first single 'Disco Infected'. According to global internet database MySpace, the band have teamed up with producer's Timothy Dudfield (aka Mr Timothy), Andy J (aka Sgt Slick) and Maarcos Kwong (1/3 of The Usual Suspects) to create a mix of "funk infused, disco spiked electro pop." Mmm spiked pop. Also - and somewhat weirder - according to their MySpace photos, they've jammed with uh, 90s NBA basketball defensive king Dennis Rodman. Damn.

So what do you do when you have a successful single? You tour the shit out of it. Props go to the band for taking in Darwin on the journey by the way. Man, NO one plays there. They're falling into the hands of savages! After touching down and then having to survive off the land for days on end the band will be forced to split up to search for water. Only to be then captured by locals and sent to their deaths off the edge of a nearby cliff. At the last minute, the jungle will suddenly part to reveal their singer, thought dead, in face paint and a headdress. Shocked, they'll think he's gone mad and is going to kill them all, before he winks knowingly and then speaks in the local dialect. Later he'll explain he told them he was the God of funk infused pop. Mark my words. I've seen this kind of thing before.

See the Gig Guide for details.
