Def Leppard abuse own fans

Fair enough. British soft-metal idols Def Leppard are baffled by their recent chart success. (That makes two of us.) The very LA-titled Songs from the Sparkle Lounge landed like a jet of hairspray on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart this week, affixing itself to the number five position.
Having his cake and spitting it back at the chef, guitarist Phil Collen pondered the sudden upsurge in interest.
"I am irked," he's been reported as saying, "that people didn't pay this much attention to the other albums which I felt were just as good. This one is stripped down and people seem to be going nuts for it."
Less is more, Philbo?
His confusion rests on the principle that their recent albums were just as good. X - their tenth album, released in 2002 – was their worst selling effort. The 2006 follow up, Yeah!, was also largely ignored.
Perhaps all it takes is a more evocative title.
