Death Cab For Cutie have sure come a long way since they played for 40
people at the Corner and the Annandale in 2003. Back then they were brought out by Something For Kate in a supporting role, just before the release of
Transatlanticism.
Since then they've gone on to sign to a major, become synonymous with the O.C, be nominated for Grammy Awards (for Best Rock Song for 'I Will Possess Your Heart' & Best Alternative Music Album for 'Narrow Stairs') and generally sweep the dewey-eyed masses before them. They were just here in August last year but...like the great southern bug zapper our summer lures the Americans once more.
The band will be performing a series of "intimate theatre shows". Which isn't strictly true because the venues are traditional rock venues that a bunch of other loud bands play regularly so....nevermind. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday 9th January.
