Oz golden boys Augie March are currently furrow browed in an Auckland recording studio working on the follow up to 2006's
Moo, You Bloody Choir. And they're blogging about it.
Or at least singer Glenn Richards is. The frontman has written two posts on
augiemarch.com, detailing proceedings so far. The first of which mentions guitarist Adam Donovans newly broken bones:
"The Augie curse rears its head and, without divulging much, it emerges that we will be without Adam's arm for a good part of the album making. Singer recalls saying something along the lines of "You really shouldn't ride homeā¦" to somebody, but that's where the memory fades. The plan is to forge on and hope Adam can complete his parts in the last days. Debate rages over whether his per diems ought to be split between remaining active members. - Singer"
The site also has video footage of the band setting up inside Neil Finn's Roundhead Studios in Auckland, jamming on new songs and inevitably, arguing. It also shows "guitarist" attempting to rectify the physical imbalance by spouting opinions to the performing band from the comfort of a couch. Still, "singer" leaves a promising postscript - "Probably the best set of songs to date."
