ROCK THROB - Sex sells, even when on fire
"When Sex on Fire first came out, I loved it, I drew a friends attention to it, she said 'It sounds like an STD', I thought it was hilarious. I liked it when the KoL were on the J's, and Nova had never heard of them. Now I hear them being played while getting some milk at Safeway. I couldn't get tickets to their stadium shows but my pop loving friends who rate Rhianna and Beyonce in their all time faves got tix. I was upset, but am consoled when I think about how crappy the crowd, the venue and the sound quality will be. I saw them at Festival Hall in January which is by far one of the best shows I have ever seen and am glad I saw them before the release of this album. I have all their albums, and agree that Sex is indeed not their sexiest song - think Red Morning Light, definitely Taperjean Girl (hence my nick) and so on. Also, with the latest album (what's it called again?) you can actually understand Caleb, in comparison to their previous three albums where you really have to listen and google to understand the lyrics. For me the KoL have sold out and I feel like I've lost a treat. I'm still in mourning, but I'm waiting to discover my next favorite band. "
