The ACCC sues Apple

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has taken technology giant Apple to court for advertising the new iPad as ‘4G’-capable.
The competition regulator finds Apple’s advertising problematic because the iPad’s 4G features cannot be used on national telecommunications networks.
Apple, however, has listed their technical specifications, stating that the 4G feature only works with major US carriers, AT&T and Verizon.
According to apple.slashdot.org, the ACCC’s case “may be a bit shaky, though, as Apple does state in the fine print: '4G LTE is supported only on AT&T and Verizon networks in the US; and on Bell, Rogers and Telus networks in Canada. Data plans sold separately. See your carrier for details.'"
