Microsoft Xbox 360 successor rumoured for 2012

Microsoft Xbox 360 successor rumoured for 2012
I love the games that I can play exclusively on Xbox these days... I'm a very big fan of Halo especially. And Xbox's LIVE network is without peer in the console world (even down to the number of prepubescent turds on there). But I'm not a fan of the hardware itself, or the interface design. In fact, I'm usually not a fan of Microsoft hardware (I will admit that it's always top quality and very hard wearing, though.

But enough about me...

The rumour mill has properly kicked in with tech website Edge claiming that Ubisoft Montreal is now working with next gen Xbox dev kits. I'm not going to speculate on what will be inside other than the real obvious:

Improved graphics
Secret CPU & GPU processors (what's it gonna be?)
Major capitalisation on Kinect
Improved Xbox LIVE network
Better integration with Windows mobile devices

If the rumours are true, we won't be seeing it until E3 next year and we won't be havnig it until the end of next year. It's nice to know something's on the way... these stretched hardware lifecycles are killing me. I guess I just love hardware.

The jury is still out on the name too... 720 is the most often assumed name. But, despite their market demographic, are they really going to be that obvious? I doubt it, 720 wuold suggest a doubling of everything... and I find that hard to believe.

Check Techradar's video on what they want to see in the next Xbox. I can only agree!
(Sorry iOS viewers, you won't be able to watch this one)
