If Tumblr and Delicious had a love child, my guess is that it would come out looking like
Gimme Bar.
It’s a wonderfully simple idea that allows you to drag any content you want to hang on to, onto (see what I did there?) a bar at the bottom of your browser window.
As the video below will tell you, you can drag almost any type of content onto Gimme Bar, including images (naturally), snippets of text, videos and even screenshots taken by the extension.
The content is stored “forever” up in the cloud. How forever “forever” is, is forever the question. OMFG it’s 6AM, I woke up on the couch and now I’m writing—please laugh at my puns! Content can be backed up to Dropbox—nice touch!
Gimme Bar makes organisation a convenience—as you drag content on, you’re offered the opportunity to add hashtags and categories.
Perhaps the best part of it all (after the drag and drop) is the presentation of your saved content in a Tumblresque spread. You can even publish it to the web via your public stream—this I think will be a powerful aspect of the app.
Gimme Bar is in beta right now. I don’t have an account yet *HINT* but I can see it has a lot of potential already. Check it:
