If like me you’re absolutely sick of the Apple iPhone 5 rumour machine, then respite for us all is near. I’ve purposefully abstained from getting too involved with that crap because, at the end of the day, before the curtains go up and CEO
Steve Jobs Tim Cook takes the stage—no one really knows for sure what Apple is going to offer but Apple itself.
Sure, we all know roughly what is going to transpire; a few new things including a shiny phone, a new operating system, some cloud in the sky. And then, at the end of it all, we usually get that
one more thing tag line and a nice big surprise is thrown up in
Steve’s Tim’s
PowerPoint Keynote presentation.
Formulaic, but effective!
Oh yes, this is the first time we see a notable keynote sans Steve Jobs. Many in the industry and many
fanbois customers are a trite sad about this. Of course, so are the shareholders. I can guarantee you they’ll all be hanging on every word the new CEO says. Tim has a very big job to do, not only has he got to continue the massive success of the world’s most talked about company, but he’s got to assert himself as the new man on the block rather than Steve 2.
The keynote will be kicking off at 4AM (SYD/MELB time) tomorrow morning. I’m still a little bit embarrassed at myself because I woke up at 4AM
this morning. It took me a while to figure that one out. I blame a combination of daylight savings time and (US) Pacific Time.
Anyway, I’ll be over it by tomorrow morning. I’m expecting big things; two shiny phones, one of which being an iPhone 5 with a nice new form factor. I had better not have persevered with this iPhone 3GS for more than two years for nothing!
See all y’all at 4AM... TOMORROW.
