In the 1940s Melbourne had the Angry Penguins. And 60 years later Melbourne has a few groups of radials who have lead the way in stamping our contemporary times with an aesthetic style and flavour that reflects this city and these times.

It is really a badge of honour that many of these artists break rules and are mis-understood by the press.

One of these collectives is the Everfresh bunch.  These artists include the likes of Sync, Phibs, Reka, Rone, Wonderlust, Prizm, Meggs, Makatron and The Tooth.  They all rock quite individual styles but have worked together and side-by-side on many street art projects around our inner-city communities.  They have incorporated and evolved graffiti styles with intense colour, intricate line work, iconic characters and visual narratives.

Everfresh Studio is an secret hub of making, creating and collaborating, inconspicuously located in Melbourne’s inner-city suburb of Collingwood. Behind an unmarked factory door, Everfresh artists conceive, develop and collaborate to produce their now internationally renowned work for the streets, as well as gallery work.

After an insanely long conception and design process, the group has proudly brought forward an impressive book about their life and art as Everfresh.  Not surprisingly, the book is designed with absolute attention to detail, including beautiful die-cut inserts printed to look like newspaper clippings.

Illustrated with amazingly candid photography, EVERFRESH: BLACKBOOK provides a rare and exclusive insight into the life of the studio, the artists behind the work and the culture of the elusive underground art world—a world usually cloaked in anonymity.

This is a book that should sit next to KingswayStreet Studio, Done with Electricity and Thames and Hudson's new encyclopedia on Australian & New Zealand Fashion as a time capsule of our buoyant and creative times!

The ‘Everfresh: Blackbook’ is published through Miegunyah Press and will be released as an open edition soft cover as well as a limited edition of 500 hardcovers.
