Designer and artist Miikel Doomernik has been dreaming of living in another time for a long time.  The charm of the lazy days of milkbars, mixed lollies and soft drinks have been haunting his suburban landscape.

With a decided passion for good, Aussie mid-century cultural artifacts Miikel has been collecting milkbar ephemera as well as documenting the fading memories of this institution that has been all but killed off by the evils of 7-11s, late night super markets and rising rentals.

His photographs are part of an upcoming exhibition "Milkbars, Laundromats and Urban Beauty" which is part of this years Fringe Festival program.  Nostalgia, history and lost stories mix with flaky paint, Australiana, homegrown typography and suburban dreaming.
