L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) is dedicated to creating the most inspiring, innovative and relevant fashion event in Australia. The most prestigious fashion award that fosters excellence in the fashion industry is undoubtedly the annual LMFF Designer Award presented by iconic global company Woolmark. LMFF is accepting entries for the 2009 LMFF Designer Award.

The LMFF Designer Award recognises designers in their first five years of business, who excel in creative design, quality and who show potential for industry longevity. From a competitive field of entrants, a minimum of five finalists will be selected to present their capsule collections to a judging panel comprising a diverse group of Australian fashion industry leaders, who will then select the winner of the Award

The 2009 LMFF Designer Award winner will be announced at a special presentation during the Festivalweek (March 15 – 22) at Central Pier. The winner of the 2009 LMFF Designer Award presented by Woolmark receives a $10,000 cheque and commemorative award. The winning designer will also be flown to either Premier Vision (Paris) or Pitti Filati (Florence) as a guest of Woolmark.

Entries close November 14, 2008. All finalists will be notified by email by December 18, 2008.
