Design Process behind The Signet Bureau

An in store installation by three renowned Melbourne fashion labels manifest in the use their Gertrude Street shopfront and store interior.

A journey into the processes of the designers as they reveal some of the ideas, and inspirations that lead to the final products.

With a focus on documenting the design process behind the designer's Autumn/ Winter 2008 collections, including drawings, patterns, graphic processes and material experimentation, this exhibition is a window into the workings of some of Melbourne’s fashion innovators revealing process, skill and implementation.

This collaborative the retail space is run like a gallery for the designers' work, rather than a conventional boutique. Collections are shown as a whole, the way a flagship store would allow, but in addition there is the interesting juxtaposition between the separate labels.

Wednesday 16 – Thursday 24 July, 2008 as part of State Of Design, Victoria's Design Festival.
