Prince Alfred Park will host the 9th Surry Hills Festival, on 12 April 2008. The Festival offers a wide variety of entertainment options, so make sure you get there early - it kicks off at 10am.

Highlights include:

  • 2 entertainment stages: Green Stage & Acoustic World Stage
  • Actors Centre Australia presents Dramatic Intent with presentations from leading acting educationalists, professional actors, casting directors and agents.
  • The Lilypad (courtesy of Big Day Out): Duckpond, Larry, Heavy G and Christo, with special guests
  • Surry Hills Dog Show Off: Hosted by Sassy Treats, registrations from 9am on Festival Day
  • Rainbow Stage: Entertainment for the whole family!
  • 2 Dance & DJ Stages: 3DWorld and 2SER
  • Hundreds of market stalls
  • Great food - licensed bar
  • Wine & Deli stalls
  • New Feature: Fashion Catwalk featuring fashion shows from emerging fashion designers

I wish I was in Melbourne for this, I'll never forget watchign a documentary on Lynch who claimed that "Blue Velvet" was inspired by a children's book from the 50's - innocent, pristine........ Blood and oxygen masks!
