Most people collect something. Some are fanatical
about collecting, and some don’t even realise they are collecting things.
For many years Anne has found enjoyment in the
discovery of small objects. Over time she has kept certain small things because
they may remind her of something, look purposeful or even appeal to her for no particular
reason. Recently, Anne’s fascination with these objects has influenced her to
start writing a list, describing each object. From there she started to draw
them individually.
Each drawing depicts the actual size and colour of the
object. They are created using various mediums upon other things that Anne has collected,
such as scraps of paper and card, small cardboard boxes and pieces of wood.
Anne’s growing collection of drawings now interests
her more than the objects themselves. When assembled together they have a
definite affinity with one another and she now feels they are in many ways
autobiographical.
Head to the Keith and Lottie Gallery
