Day two of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week is underway and things are getting exciting.

Alpha 60 and Antipodium both tried to shock the pants off the audience. Alpha 60 made us watch the confronting gun shot to the head scene in La Haine, and Anitpodium sent tattooed real-sized women down the catwalk with tampon necklaces.

Ruby Rose loved the Antipodium collection. "I was pretty distracted by the amazing women on the catwalk, but there's a couple of pieces I loved. The denim cape needs to be in my life. And although I couldn't wear it, I loved the final piece."

She didn't mention she loved the sacky brown Monk's cowl. Weird.

On the love list, was of course Dion Lee, who kept everyone buzzing enough to sit through the heavy sell from Diet Coke, and two confused shows from Manning Cartell and Illionaire. The latter did let lose a cloud of gold glitter though, which distracts a treat.

Waiting and patience - my two greatest virtues - were themes of the day. We waited for half an hour for Dion Lee to start in the morning, then an hour and a quarter in the cold of evening for Ellery to start.

Waiting is all part of the game, of course. You can make people wait if you're very important or outstanding. Your audience knows you're worth waiting for. The growing crowd starts buzzing with rumours of how awesome your show's going to be and how you're the next Jesus or similar prophet. But, after 12 hours of buying, viewing and meetings, the wait for Ellery felt shabby and made people crabby. At the end of their tether, one of their biggest fans just said "I just wish it was better made." Sometimes all the glitter in the world can't cover them cracks.
