The best and worst dressed at the 40th American Music Awards

The best and worst dressed at the 40th American Music Awards

The AMAs celebrated their 40th anniversary this evening in Los Angeles, and as a result no one made any particularly concerted efforts to look good. Your forties are just like that, you have more important things to think about, like giving all of your prizes to Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and Taylor Swift. You know, serious adult things.

Anyway, the only award that really matters is Best Dressed, which went to the stunning Kerry Washington, who wore a demure yolk-yellow lace dress with a body-con slip and matchy-matchy purse.

Here are the rest of the winners though:

Favorite Pop/Rock Artist, Male: Justin Bieber

Favorite Country Artist, Female: Taylor Swift

Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album: Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Nicki Minaj

Favorite Alternative Rock Music Artist: Linkin Park

Favorite Soul/R&B Artist, Male: Usher

Favorite Country Artist, Male: Luke Bryan

Favorite New Artist: Carly Rae Jepsen

Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group: Lady Antebellum

Favorite Electronic Dance Music Artist: David Guetta

Favorite Pop/Rock Album: Believe, Justin Bieber

Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist: Nicki Minaj

Who the hell thought that Heidi Klum would be qualified to judge a fashion show? Hasn't any of the producers seen her get dressed?
