The weekly eBay trawl is such a pleasure. This week, I channelled the seventies mum look that's so hot for spring, and took it to its vintage extreme.

The seventies mum look is all about clogs, sensible sandals, high-waisted trousers and blouses. By night, there's black, gold, raw crystals and shaggy boots. Seventies mum tinkers with the spiritual - crystals and navajo patterns - but stays smart enough to be seen at the parent/teachers association meeting. With the addition of some more blingy accessories (which, in the seventies, were called 'jazzy') she might even lure newly divorced dad out for a cheeky Tia Maria.

By day, I've found you a nice pair or high-waisted peach slacks, a lovely Diane Von Furstenburg blouse and a polka dot blouse.  A couple of sensible bags including a mini satchel, a patchwork satchel and a great little portfolio by my fav posh leather specialists, Delvaux. Day time accessories include a darling amethyst wolf pendant, Liberty x Clarks desert boots and a chunky gold necklace which ends soon. Extreme seventies mum packs a scarf in her bag, because, you just never know when you might need to warm up or tie a splint on an injured child.

By night, you've got a sensible but smart Celine dress, a magnificent gold neck/body piece and triangle earrings that will work a treat with the shaggy Alexander Wang boots. A small leather bag with coordinating gold touches is just enough to hold your tampax and some valium if it all gets a little too much.

eBay has a raft of brilliant accessories at the moment, so I couldn't resist sharing two humungous statement necklaces in silver and gold and a fabulous slice of agate
