Typically, European red carpet events have more fashionable turn outs than those stateside, but this wasn’t the case for the Batman The Dark Knight Rises premieres, where the New Yorkers (Gossip Girl cast and all) made a pretty decent show of it, while the Brits looked... awful. Really, just awful. So bad in fact, that I suspect Anne Hathaway had it written into her contract that no one save Marion Cotilliard could appear on the black carpet looking even 40% as good as her.
What does this mean for the grand equilibrium of celebrity dressing? Not much. What it means for the ability of Batman’s PRs to attract non-cast celebrities to the London screening on the other hand, is that someone is probably on summer holiday leave right now.
