Montana Cox, who took out first place in this year's cycle of Australia's Next Top Model, has just landed her first campaign, with Australia high street shoe institution Betts. Photographed by Vogue's extremely capable street style snapper (and former model herself) Candice Lake, the campaign premiers this week, and we have a shot all to ourselves to share with you.

Shot on Chapel Street, the campaign emphasises Betts' more fashion forward offerings.

We spoke to Montana to find out a little about life after Top Model.

Can you tell us a bit about how shooting the campaign went?
The shoot for Bett's was great. The shoes are fabulous and it was so amazing to work with Candice she is such a talented and lovely lady.

Did anything unexpected happen on the day?

The fact that it was a beautiful day in Melbourne and didn't have four seasons in one day for a change!

What are some of your favourite pieces from the range?
I loved the super star wedge, they’re so comfortable and come in black and fuchsia. It goes with everything!

What else have you been up to since Top Model finished?
I had to fly home and study up for all of my Year 12 exams! Other than that I have just moved up to Sydney and have been busy working away.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

The beach! I am a huge water baby, I love to get lighter hair, eyes and freckles and not wear any makeup and just be natural.

Any style essentials for the warmer weather we need to know about?

A good shampoo and conditioner for your summer strands and all you need is mascara and a touch of highlighter.

How are you adjusting to your new public profile?

It’s so weird! I still think people are giving me evil's in the street but then I realise "Oh I think they know who I am!" It's funny...

Do you have international plans at the moment?
New York is definitely on the horizon and hopefully more fashion capitals after that.

What’s your best tip for walking in heels?
Platforms! They are so easy to walk in and much more comfortable.
