While the iPad has been hailed as the savior of print media for some, many people think of it as just a very shiny – and very expensive – toy. Given the product’s status as a tech-y piece of excessive consumption, what better way to store it than in a case that costs ten times as much as the product itself?

Between Dior Homme’s minimalism, Chanel’s quilting, YSL’s slick gold fastenings, TOD’s crocodile leather and Luxirare’s glossy pony skin, we’re pretty much convinced it’s worth getting a decadent accompaniment to the devise that may someday store our magazines.

Here are five iPad cases that cost more than an actual iPad.

It’s worth noting that Gucci, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Oscar de la Renta, Vaja and Dolce and Gabbana all make iPad cases too, but these fall short of the iPad’s $629 price tag.
