Mariah Carey is not renowned for her classic style and taste, as evident here in this shot of her to-ing or fro-ing the gym. At least I hope that's what she's doing. But man, how does she make a T-shirt look so bad? Well I guess to start with, it's a hideous T-shirt, worse even than any Ed Hardy nonsense. You never thought that was possible right?
Perhaps on the rack, or in the freebie bag from the publicist, the T-shirt looked ok. No, it probably didn't. It is certainly not improved by the red and black mix and match nail polish and basically her entire outfit in general.
If I worked at a fashion magazine I'd come up with a clever play on/mash up of words to describe this, such as fawful (fashion + awful) or chit (chic + shit). Anyway you write it, we've got a style vacuum here.
Mariah, to improve this situation kindly take note of young Natalie Portman's T-shirt-based outfits at the recent Venice film festival. This, lady love, is how it's done.
