Seriously, does it get any better than this? The maquillage at Balenciaga was to die for. It was just the kind I'd like to apply… to models visages, that is. Of course, I’d love to wear it too, but I think I ought to stick to minimal base on an otherwise red lipstick adored face if I ever want to get a date again. But that’s beside the point, for Pat McGrath has inspired me to dust off my colour box and grease paint, throw away the brushes and get to work.
Tribal was an obvious influence once again, with Nicolas Ghesquière channeling chic biker meets nomadic hiker. Faces in turn featured brows bleached to next to nothing (a distinct trend for spring 2010) with imperfectly applied smoky, graphite-coloured grease and powder, with a swipe appearing under each eye, in the groove nearest the nose and along each temple. Cheeks were treated in the most basic of ways: sculpted for definition, while on the lips the scantest amount of creamy soft pink lipstick was present.
And finally, to spell spring amongst all of that muted goodness, a splotch of opaque colour was cleverly daubed in the corner of each eye. Some girls wore neon yellow, others turquoise blue, while others sported the hottest of hot vivid orange hue. Plus our own Miranda Kerr was in there! Hawt.
