Jen Brill has become the New York ‘it’ girl faster than Cory Kennedy can say ‘Cobrasnake,’ but like her slow drawling predecessor, is Brill’s socialite status merely the result of a camera toting, sub culture crawling boyfriend?
Over the past few months I’ve noticed pictures of an exotic beauty with Olsenesque-style popping up all over the blogosphere. At first I took no notice, but it wasn’t long until the feline face could no longer be avoided. So I did some research and found out that this enigmatic beauty is none other than Jen Brill, marketing mogul,

Despite appearing in Sophomore's new campaign, organising trendy parties for the Maritime Hotel and now working for Fred & Associates - a top tier marketing firm in New York - Brill is better known as ‘Terry Richardson’s girlfriend.’ This begs the question, is Brill an ‘it’ girl in her own right, or has she been catapulted into pop culture consciousness by her widely recognised photographer boyfriend?
From all reports Brill is undisputedly good at her job and is a hard-working, fast talking, savvy business woman. But this an ‘it’ girl does not make. She has the right friends, is seen in the right places, parties hard and has taken her top off for ‘art’, which, in theory makes a fairly convincing portfolio in favour of her ‘it’ girl status. Where I stop short however, is at her style.
At first glance she’s got it all: the long, style-less, shiny hair, the mind-bogglingly oversized hand bag, the inconceivably high heels paired with black tights at midday, the rock’n’roll body con dresses, the ostentatious fluffy coat and most importantly, the throw away cigarette and devil may care attitude.
Unfortunately, this is just the problem: she’s got it all. It’s textbook 'it' style done to perfection, which worryingly tilts the scales away from ‘stylish’ and dangerously into the realm of that ghastly unfashionable word - ‘fashionable.’
