Designing sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy are bringing their label's ethereal sensibility to the wider world when Target introduces Rodarte in December, as part of its Go International series of limited collections.

Consisting of 55 pieces, that range from 9.99USD for cut-out knee-highs to 79.99USD for a leopard print jacket, the Rodarte for Target collection is said to be, "very feminine, yet very modern. The collection incorporates a rich mix of patterns and fabrications and everything from sequins and bows to faux fur. The key with Rodarte is layering."

Target spokesman Joshua Thomas continues, "There are stand-alone pieces and pieces that can be worn together to create an ensemble by layering different patterns, textures and prints."

Those textures involve lace, sequins, tulle, faux-fur and denim, teamed with a whole lot of leopard print for good measure. In the past, collections like these have attracted a lot of criticism for being very watered down, but I maintain that the opportunity to own a piece from a label that is otherwise rather inaccessible ain't never a bad thing.

Have your credit cards at the ready ladies, the limited edition collection will launch in US stores and on target.com on December 20, 2009, and will be available through to February 6, 2009.
