The UK's Glamour magazine and Aussie shampoo held the annual Women of the Year awards in London last night and our Dannii came up trumps. Dannii took out the TV Personality award, beating the likes of Kirstie Allsopp from
Relocation, Relocation, Nicky Hambleton-Jones from
10 Years Younger, Nigella Lawson, from her own outrageous deliciousness, Sharon Osbourne and Trinny & Susannah.
Besides our own Aussie girl's success, highlights included Lily Allen's new pink hair and Kelly Osbourne's grown-up-ness in a demure deco gown.
Allen received the Editor's Special Award in honour of her busy career as a
singer, television presenter and all-round style queen.
"With reams of column inches to match her considerable talents, no Women
of the Year line-up could be complete without the one and only Lily Allen,"
according to Glamour editor Jo Elvin.
The event was co-sponsored by Aussie shampoo, a brand that is hugely popular in the UK but seems to have no apparent link to our country. Now it's received an extra publicity boost, Brits will probably go on thinking we are all beach babes with flowing hair and/or Elle MacPherson/a Minogue.
