GQ magazine celebrated the tenth annual Men Of The Year awards, at London's Royal Opera House in Covent Garden last night. The awards honour the most talented men in Britain and were hosted by Elton John and Lily Allen, who wore a massive Dolce e Gabbana ball gown.

TheVine favourites The Mighty Boosh took out the comedians of the year while sharp dressed man Mark Ronson scored the maverick award. Sixties fashion photographer David Bailey took out the lifetime achievement award while Burberry designer Christopher Bailey took out designer of the year. Brandon Flowers from The Killers was voted the most stylish man, pipping Mark Ronson at the post.

Some of the most beautiful women in the world were recruited to deliver the awards, including Elle Macpherson, Liz Hurley and Jerry Hall.

The night was a snapshot of London's on-going dedication to diverse fashion. Artist Tracy Emin rocked socks and sandals, Jo Wood and Elle Macpherson made the most of their stunning figures in bandage dresses and Jerry Hall proved she's the most well-dressed wife Mick ever had. The gents from David Bailey to Mark Ronson worked all ends of the skinny black tie/ white shirt trend. Ronson worked it in a slim-legged blue suit, The Killers chose one variation each and Orlando whacked a comfy cardy under his jacket.

The Mighty Boosh, as usual, threw trend to the wind with Julian dressed in his jazzy brown finest and Noel in shiny pleather and a cassette motif T-shirt.

London’s Daily Mail, the tabloid newspaper renowned for their accuracy and integrity, reported that relations between Elton and Lily deteriorated somewhat as the night progressed:

As the evening wore on, Lily's state gradually deteriorated as she continually sipped champagne on stage.

The 23-year-old, decked out in an extravagant ball gown, soon began slurring, swearing and ad-libbing. When she came to announce '...and now the most important part of the night', Elton chipped in 'What? Are you going to have another drink?'

She fired back: 'F*** off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!'

The shocked audience fell silent.

A clearly rattled Elton replied 'I could still snort you under the table'. To which she replied: 'F*** off. I don't know what you are talking about.'
And the winners are:

Boris Johnson - politician of the year
