Glastonbury 2009 has wrapped up and the Wellington boots again proved to be the number one must-have fashion item. Fashion people usually go by the rule looks first, practicality second, but not when there's a sea of mud involved. Glastonbury's muddy fields has made it ok to carefully consider your outfit from the knees upward, stuff the messy, mucky lower half.

Even in the practical, comfortable world of Wellies, there is a hierarchy. Hunters are the preferred boot of Jaggers and Geldofs - they're the traditional muck-raking boot with the buckled side favoured by HRH Lizzie Windsor. Peaches Geldof wore the new Jimmy Choo/Hunters collab, while Lizzie Jagger wore a new fluoro pair.

Stage costumes are hard to compete with - Karen O's head-dress, Fergie's cut-out playsuit - but London dragster Jodie Harsh gave it a fair crack. The lass pulled out the Amy Winehouse-style beehive in Wino's absence, and a neat pair of sequined culottes. Gabrielle Climi's stage costume did little to impress me. There's nothing wrong with the pirate shirt/disco chauffeur's cap but this would have been an ideal opportunity to wear some great Australian designs. TV, Therese Rawsthorne, even sass & bide give her a call now to rectify please.

T-shirts being the go-to item for statement making were a feature. A John Peel T-shirt for homeless charity Shelter was sported by most musos at one point or another. A T-shirt commemorating Michael Jackson's death was on sale the day after his death, seemingly printed over night.
