Keen to spend your casholah on some new found fashions? Yes? How very convenient! I went in search of some new names at Brisbane boutique The Tribune, so you’re in luck. As a little sister store to luxury retailer Jean Brown, The Tribune stocks new local designers amongst discounted luxe labels by the names of Prada, Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent and alike. And despite its geographic location, phone orders are most welcome. So here are some finds.
Betty Valentine
One for the femme fatales, Betty Valentine is the brainchild of local fashion editor and fashion stylist Lizzie Corser. Made in Australia, the label’s frilly frocks are mega feminine, made for curves and evoke a vintage pin-up feel.
House of Emily
House of Emily makes really cute headpieces, handbags, collars, scarves and hats by hand. If you like feathers, black shiny fabric, studs and chiffon, then maybe you’ll like these to.
Dolly Rockers
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, designer Belinda-Jayne Cole designs chunky accessories mixing all the great things in the world like lego, unicorns and crystals to help you look a little bit more like Iris Arpel, which is always a good thing.
Nickel and Penny
Designer Laura Nickel makes a range of hairslides, headbands and hairclips with her very own hands. Each bow and clip is a one off, so be careful not to lose them or lend them to your sister, because that's all there is folks.
