Whatever happened to the old graphic T-shirt? It got beaten to a pulp by shitty websites making T-shirts with slogans such as: “Don’t be sexist, bitches hate that” and “Avoid hangovers, stay drunk.”

So now it’s all deconstructed T-shirts with pre-ripped holes, asymmetrical sleeves and stripes, stripes stripes. Maybe a leather shell, something with colourblock silk inserts or an attached scarf. All good – but why not kick against the so-called witty T-shirt pricks with a graphic T-shirt that’s way cooler than something reading “Leave Lindsay A-Lohan”?

Rittenhouse make it easy thanks to their collaboration with Osaka-based artist Ikko Taniuci, featuring bold prints from his Enogu Buto show; as usual Ksubi come on strong with ghosts, crucifixes and the danger of drugs; blogger Jen from Sleep Deprivation and Stories of my Bullshit Youth has collaborated with Pleasure Principle on a 1970’s throwback print; and Opening Ceremony puts a new spin on the I Love New York staple and Pendleton prints.

I’m with these guys. You’re with stupid.
