I've just had my mind exploded by sustainable fashion discourse, after immersing in Northern Europe for the past week, and completely bursting to present so many amazing initiatives and designers.

But. Stop. Press.

My love letter to European sustainable fashion design will have to wait: Fair@Square Fair Fashion Show is on in two weeks, and this event trumps any other international sustainable fashion news.

The engagingly curated festival of fair and ethical living encompasses a variety of ways to be involved including workshops, stalls, talks and will be launched via a full catwalk on December 2 at BMW Edge, Federation Square.  Parading designers include: SOSUME, Liminal Apparel, and One Seed, and this is a wonderful opportunity to experience the garments in an elegant setting.

Organiser Leeyong Soo, of Vogue Nippon, Melbourne City Weekly and Peppermint Magazine amongst other distinguished fashion roles, has a knack for bringing together creative leaders in sustainable design and I am expecting a whole new world of beauty and intelligence from the selection of designers she has assembled. One of the most exciting aspects is a post-parade introduction of RMIT fashion students who are considering sustainable principles as part of their design studies.

The student will be presenting their graduate collections and discussing issues that face fashion sustainability, and solutions they have incorporated into their practices.

Tickets are still available and I would completely recommend booking early. I also scored a double pass for TheVine readers,  email Leeyong with your favourite approach to sustainable fashion, to be considered for a pass.
