Now that we’ve firmly established that I have an all-consuming shoe obsession, let’s move onto my second passion- dresses. As it turns out, I lack in casual wear, struggling to dress myself on a daily basis because of my penchant for pretty dresses- which, more often than not, are intended to be worn with stilettos for a night out as opposed to daily tasks like going to the bank or doing the groceries. There’s just nothing like putting on a beautiful dress; a dress does all the work for you, quite simply speaking for itself and rendering accessories almost irrelevant. Because if it’s just the right dress, all you need is a pair of killer heels and you’re done, no muss, no fuss. Incidentally, I’ve compiled a little list of dresses that you wont be able to resist…

There are two very special dresses that I’ve been salivating over this season, and both fall firmly in the ‘party dress’ category. Therese Rawsthorne’s whimsical take on 80s prom with her cloud print dress- a winner with only one shoulder- is the one I’d consider selling my soul for, while Acne’s tulle skirted, dynamically printed tutu corset dress is a close contender in my dealing with the devil.

For something more futuristic, Topshop is back from outer-space with some structural, body con shapes that make me feel like getting my Lady Gaga on and collaborating with Beyonce in some intergalactic, out-of-this-world, avant garde dance moves. The Space Column Spider Dress with its gaudy, Versace-esque print is the perfect statement, while KTZ’s XII Pointed Dress is more demure in black while still carrying the futuristic aesthetic.

A recent convert to all things Michael Angel, I’ve been staring for hours at the designers amazing prints and statuesque shapes. Between his structural red-printed mini dress, to the slouchier t-shirt dress and the Grecian style draped mesh dress, I just can’t decide which one is my favourite. Collect them all.

For something a little bit more girlie, I’ve fallen in love with Ida Sjostedt’s Boutique Silk Dress that creates depth with digitally printed floral on softest silk. Karen Walker’s Fall Out Ruffle Dress is a dream in frills, perfect for romantic winter dates with tights and stacked wedges.
